I failed
Thursday, July 31, 2008, 7/31/2008 02:03:00 AM

I failed

Went to watch Money No Enough II with ACians- Dinesh, Denise, WenQiang, WeiZhen, Besley, Faezah, Zelda, HuiSan, Dorothy and Duke. Very predictable as in you know when you shold laugh and what will happen next. But some scenes are quite funny and the front part of the movie is actually quite fun to watch. 2.5/5 for the movie.

Some scenes really triggered me. For example, when Vivan Lai said to Mark Lee "I can sacrifice everything, I just need someone that love me to spent my whole life with."
But I have failed.

Grandma's Birthday

Grandma's Birthday

Arghh!! I so wanna watch Singapore vs Brazil leh!! Shit la. Cannot watch somemore the ticket price drop from $60 to $30 for the seats behind the goalpost. I don't mind taking a bad seat lo. I just want to get into the National Stadium and watch SOCCER!!! Kuku bird... Actually when heard about the price, wanted to ask people to go watch but because got grandma birthday dinner, so can't go... =((( BRAZIL LEH!!! I want to watch Ronaldinho and Anderson... Sad ar sad.

Just check the result and it shows "Singapore 0 Brazil 3". Wa. Heng Singapore never lose too much. Work harder and you may one day get into the World Cup!!

Went to a chinese restaruant somewhere in Ang Mo Kio to celebrate grandma's birthday. Great to see that most of my Aunts and Uncles and also cousins are there. Long time never "play catching" with them already. It was like a wedding style dinner which is a 8 course meal?? We book 3 tables and the total cost is around $1.7k. It is abit expensive but hey, it's grandma's birthday and the food was not bad too. Grandma even complained about "why must we go to the restaruant and eat, just eat in KopiTiam can already" even though it is her birthday. But grandma, here you got service leh. Got people help you place towel on your leg, got people pour water for you, got people help you separate food, got people wear nice nice with tie serve you, got air-con, got quiet surrounding, got clean toilet, got cushion chair, got bright lights, got carpet, somemore the food is place nice nice one for you to see one leh... Where can compare to KopiTiam?? =D

I still remember when I was young and grandma was still living in a kampong like style house somewhere in the woods of Sembawang, we, cousins would often go there to see and help her plant vegetables, barberque, collecting durians, pluck wild fruits, playing with wild dogs and when there is thunder storm, the place will be flooded to ankle high level and we will fold paper boat and let it float on the water. The experience make a wonderful memories in my heart. It is just so sad that because of urban planning, my grandma was ask to leave that place by the government. Only this type of experience can be relive in Pulau Ubin. Grandma you are great!!

And And Olympic is coming real soon like 11days more?? Really hope that Singapore can bring back an Olympic medal since such a long time. I don't know why i'm proud of Singapore when they do something great. Maybe I love Singapore too much =D Huat AR Singapore!!

Cheers~

Ubinese and Zouk

Ubinese and Zouk

Temasek Polytechnic Adventure Club is again, organising a Night Cycling trip in Pulau Ubin. Thats why yesterday we are there to recce the place. This time round, it is with a new batch of enthusiastic and adventurous people. This year, what is different from the previous year is that we are going to the newly built Ketam Mountain Bike Park. And there is a super duper fun and exciting mountain bike trail within its heart which is called the Dirt Skills Park. To tell you, it is the best things that I had done in Pulau Ubin man. There are so many steep up and down slop which make it so much thrilling and exciting.

Here are the wonderful memories for the trip:

The enthusiastist

The adventurer

The colourful people. Brown, Black, Red, Bright orange, Dark orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, White, Beige.

The yellow building is the German Girl Shrine.
"Behind a secluded timber temple located at the northern coast of Pulau Ubin, there is a tragic urban legend unknown even to many Singaporeans. Strangely, inside the temple, you will find two physical objects as the centerpiece of worship. One is a beautiful porcelain urn placed on top of the altar, the other is merely a piece of rock of a football size on the floor under the altar. These two artifacts closely associate with a deceased white German girl who was mystified as a local deity in almost ninety years ago.
In August 1914, at the outbreak of WW1, British troops at night came to raid and prosecute a German merchant who owned a coffee plantation business and lived in Pulau Ubin. A young German girl who is the daughter of the merchant became frightened and ran away. Because it was dark at night, the girl fell down a cliff and was killed when her head hit on a piece of rock.
The body of the innocent girl, however, was discovered by the local laborers on the next days, covered by termites. Out of kindness, they did more than just giving her a proper burial; a Kramat (a worship shrine) was built for her on the hilltop. Years later, due to the development of quarry excavation on the hill, her remain was exhumed and transferred to another temple at the northern coast. What belonged to her, the remains that were put in a porcelain pot and this 'rock of destiny' were moved too. The villagers continued to visit the new temple to pray.
Through the passage of time, the shrine has grown into a popular place of spirit worship for the villagers because of the allegedly efficacious supernatural power of the German girl. Many worshippers especially the gamblers had their wishes granted. One day, the popularity attracted a wicked thief who stole her bones together with the porcelain urn away.
Nowadays, a replacement but empty urn and the rock of destiny can be found in the temple as the icons of worship.

I have face cramp ;(

We reach the top of Ketam Mountain Bike park where we can see the shadow of CBD area of Singapore and also the control tower of Changi Airport!!
Leaving a wonderful memories in this special place of Singapore

Japanese Hairstyle

Just went for a haircut somewhere near school with WeiZhen, Karma and Dinesh which is recommended by Wen Qiang and Desmond?? All 4 go cut hair together damn gay right?? Haha. not bad eh. Cheap and still got help you wash and style although my cut like didn't cut.

YEA!! Ler is back from camp!! Gonna "play catching" with him tomorrow. Wonder how's his life in army... Great that you are alive!! =D

Here is what the $10 hairstyle can get you:

The Punk HairStyle

The Astroboy Hairstyle

The Neat Hairstyle

I chose a hairstyle from a magazine and ask the Miss to help me cut and this is the Japanese hairstyle that I got. =D Really like didn't cut anything hor?? Only trim here and there... But at leaste got a new hair style at a cost of only $10. So can't complain much. =)

I always use to think that cutting hair is a heng(lucky) or suay(unlucky) thingy as it is like trying your luck on the person cutting your hair. But now, I think that different people will cut different hairstyle for you, they may give you a very different new look which you might think is very wierd but it give yourself and the person around you a very refreshing and new you. But unless the person cut until very terok than have nothing to say...

And also, here are some random photos. Enjoy:

Yesterday was Adventure Club Physical Training. Yea. We trained our Strength, Stamina and Mental!!

After a hard day of training, an uncle gave us some mee goreng as a reward for our hardwork although it look like he is treating us as dustbin... Eating the leftover. HAHA!! NoNo. Can't waste food. Must think of those mulnutrition African kids. Maybe the uncle can send the Mee Goreng over there?? =D

This lift can go upwards and leftward. ARGHHHH!! If I go up than how to come down?!?

After being with us for 8yrs, my dog-Minnie now understand how we human live. This shows how she sleep... Sleep like how we sleep eh!! Pro dog. Shit!! I forgot to censor!! This picture is rated R21. Those who are below 21yrs of age please do not see!!! Don see ar cannot see ar!!

I'm excited about tomorrow!! Going back to the nature- Pulau Ubin for the night cycling recce and and meeting up with Ler!!!

Ler.Di.Aw

Get well soon SY=DD

Mafia
Thursday, July 24, 2008, 7/24/2008 01:19:00 AM

Mafia
Went to watch Dark Night on Monday with Faezah and WeiZhen. First time watching Painful Sia movie. Arghhh. What a damn long movie man. I expect the movie to end in 2hrs time but it was like 3hrs plus lor!! You thought that the movie is gonna end but it continue again. Overall, I giva a 3.8/5 stars. What about the 1.2?? Just didn't feel like giving too much stars for it. I want to watch Red Cliff and Money No Enough II!!!

I think that some of Jack Neo's movie may not be that good compared to Hollywood movie in terms of budget etc. But what make people or to be exact, singaporeans to go and watch his movie is the storyline. It express what the people really want to express, and he do it in a humourous way. That's why most of his movie are a hit in Singapore movie industry, that's why I want to watch Money No Enough II!!!

Mas Selamat head worth $1 million dollar leh!!! After I read the article, I start to daydream. Dreaming that I was trekking from Bukit Timah Hill to Macritchie Reservoir, than I saw Mas Selamat with long beard, looked old and weak, and I quickly called the police. The police caught him and gave me the $1 million dollar. And I was thinking like how to spend the $1million dollar. Firstly, I would put $400k into a bank account which cannot be taken out until I reach the age of 35. I would use $100k as a capital for my dream of being an entrepreneur. $200k for investment. $200k for my own use and $100k to share with my friends and family. What a great dream that I didn't want to wake up!!!!

Went for IITSC AGM today and their theme was "Mafia". So we need to dress up as mafia. Really scratching my head of what to wear and decided on wearing all white. Who say mafia only wear black and white? Also got white horse prince Mafia one ok?!? =D It is fun to dress up crazy once in awhile. I need to go on a "killing spree" soon!!

Something really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really shock me!!! And that is....... My favourite Ice Cream stall has closed down!!!!!!!!! ='(((((((( Haiyo. Why you all close down never come tell me first???? If not I will go buy all of your ice cream to prevent you from closing down leh!!!! Why Why Why??????? Tell me why and nothing but a hardach... Haiz. Tell me why leh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't eat the Rocky Road anymore... ='''''((((

Than after that, meet up with WeiZhen and he accompanied me to Bugis TCC as there are food training for staff... TCC is introducing new food eh. But something really shock me AGAIN!!!! Something really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really shock me!!! And that is....... TCC is not going to sell my most favourite 2 soups- Cream of Fennel and Sea of Asparagus!!!!!!!!! ='(((((((( Haiyo. Why you all don't want sell already?? Should tell me earlier ma!! So that I can go eat till i'm sick and tired of it before you all stop selling. Why Why Why??????? Tell me why and nothing but a hardach... Haiz. Tell me why leh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ===''''''''(((((((
Ok. The food training end till quite late and I was late for the dinner at Dorby Ghaut TCC with ACs- WeiZhen, Faezah, WeiCheng, Besley, Zelda, Jenna, Duke, Dorothy and Desmond. Ate triple C Panini, a curry chicken sandwich which is soon going to be out of the menu. ='( I don't understand why they don't want to keep the delicious food and change the unpopular food eh... Than went to ate Tao Huai at Rochar Beancurd. Ate cold Tau Huai and You Tiao before bussing home.

Read an article-"Football: Brazilian Olympic football team to play friendly against Singapore". Woo Hoo~!!!! Brazil is coming to Singapore on the 28 of July eh!! I want to watch I want to watch I want to watch I WANT to watch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But But But, a line read "Tickets range from $60 to $120". Wa Lao eh. Why so expensive?!?!?!?!? Should tell me earlier ma!! So that I can work and work and work to earn more money to pay for this match. Haiz.

Think now if I can choose to have a superpower, I would want a power that can teleport so that I can go back to the past and tell myself earlier ma...

Cheers~

Night Walk
Saturday, July 19, 2008, 7/19/2008 10:45:00 PM

Night Walk

Went for a 2 night 1 day walk with our Adventure Club sub-coms from Sembawang to Tampines. Kudos to them for reaching Tampines without giving up!! The journey may be long, tedious, tired and tough, but it is a test to your mental strength, your character and your skills. Glad that everyone survived and completed this walk. Now, all of our leg and shoulder muscles are stronger!! And most importantly, our mental strength has been strengthened!! Congrats to the TPAC Ultimate 9- Steven, Fang Ying, YinGen, Waran, Lee Kiang, Shakina, Neelima, Herisuriani and Sacchi!! What a tired but satisfaction walk!! You guys rocks!!
Journey that we took
We started from Sembawang MRT at around 12am and reach our 1st checkpoint- Punggol Beach at around 7am by walking through Yishun and Lower Seletar Reservoir and set-up our campsite there. At 2pm, we set off from our campsite and walk to Tampines through Sengkang and Hougang and reach Tampines at around 7pm.

Here are some photo taken during the walk. Enjoy.

We took train to Sembawang MRT station. Their bags are big that they occupy much of the floor space.

Setting out. Walking towards Yishun. We are in Yishun!! Walking fine. Reaching Lower Seletar Reservoir soon... Motivation!!

Taking a rest at Lower Seletar Reservoir. The place have alot of bikers and racing car with a beautiful view of Malaysia Penisular.

Walking towards Jlan Kayu in a single file. Car winding through the road here and there.

We have reach SengKang!! As there are no car on the road, all of us lie down in the middle of the road and took a group photo. Once in a lifetime experience eh!! The guy who is thinner and is in the front row with his leg lift up is me. =)

Having our last toilet break before heading towards our campsite. Pitching up of our tents in the nowhere of Punggol beach.

Cooking our breakfast-pancake before going to sleep. This is the first time that I can still sleep in a tent where the sun is shoning brightly on me and giving me its "warmth". Setting off to Tampines!! Navigating our way through Punggol Beach. Navigating our way again in Punggol Beach. Took some Detour too. NVM. AC can take it!! We have reach Sengkang!! Heading towards Hougang. We reached Hougang and it started to pour. So we hid ourselves on the void deck.

Finally, we reached Tampines. Having a debrief at bus-stop. And to reward our sub-coms, we give them all the luxury food that we have as they only bring those normal food for camps. Now they have learn something new- Going camps doesn't mean that we can't have good food!!

All of us have fast food picnic at Tampines and playing click click, bang bang before heading home.

Cheers~

Enjoy the Journey~
