So this is the Debate:

1)Would you rather work a job that you like and is very interested in but with only a monthly pay of $1000
or
2)Would you work a job that you does not have a passion but with a monthly pay of $2000?

Which one would you choose?? This question was discussed among the clique when we were talking about our future and I find out that different people have rather different views. Here is my view.

For me, I would choose the first option-work a job that I like but have less pay. It is just like choosing between working as a CEO of a company for $1000 or working as a sweeper for $2000. Why I would choose the first option is because I know about my own character. I am someone who will put in all effort when I am interested in doing something. For example, for my Hong Kong trip, I am so want to make it happen that I don't mind spending hours in front of the computer researching and researching. I believe that my passion will produce quality work. If I am not interested in something, I may still continue to do it but I will not put in my best effort. And after doing it, I will also not feel a sense of satisfaction.

Although money is important, but I believe money is not everything. I totally agree with this phrase, "money is not important, but without money, you are nothing." Yes it is true because money is an essential things in this society. But here, we are talking about $1000. For me, I think that if I were to lead a normal life without splurging on high expense items or services, I am able to live through monthly with $1000.

Some people may argue, what if $1000 is not enough? Would I still choose over passion than money? Of course, if the environment is beyond my control and I really need extra cash to get by the days, I would have no choice but to choose over money. But right now, what we are debating is that we have a choice.

I also think that if I were to work a job that I dislike, I am like wasting 1/3 of my life away everyday. Why? Because I just work for the sake of working, I would be dragging my leg to work everyday and I will never enjoy my work. But if I were to work for a job that I like, I will wake up happily everyday, knowing that there are something that I am going to look forward to. I would enjoy the experience of working. And I would be happy everyday with lesser white hair.

Money is a thing. You can't bring it with you when you leave this world. But beautiful experience can be brought with you everytime, anywhere. Thus why choose good money + bad experience rather than bad money + good experience? Thats why I am more willing to spend on holiday because it is an experience that is unique and rare.

This is my view. So whats yours?

Arhh!!

Chinese New Year is coming and I have not clean my room.
Chinese New Year is coming and I still have projects to complete.

Yadaa!!
After projects are completed, I am officially graduated from TP!!!

This year the economy is bad. Real real bad. It affected me abit because i'm worried about my family members. Hoping that those working can keep their jobs. If theres no gravity in the world, that would be good. Cause the economy index will just go up and never come down.

I would like to talk about a thing that I wanted to help, but I couldn't do anything to help it. And that is just so irritating. Because it just feel like seeing your child fall into the river, struggling for you to save him, but you can't because you can't swim. You just feel so helpless to help other people. Listen to my story again.

This beauty shop provides a lot of service. From threading to nail painting to tattoing of the eyebrow to tattoing of the lips. But there are some victims that falls in the hand of their irresponsibility.

Victim 1- She was from Brunei. She came to this shop and wanted to change her lip colour to a light pink colour. So, the staff chose the colour and tattooed it onto her lips. Yup. Its tattoo. Once its on, you can't take it off unless you go for laser treatment. But for lips,ow are you going to laser it rght?? If you laser it, your lips will be as black and big as a red sasuage. The victim tattooed, and guess what is the result?? Orange colour!! Imagine having a lips like donald duck. Will you be shock? The victim was shock and reluctant to leave the shop. She doesn't dare to walk out of the shop and what worst is that with this result, she still have to pay the full fee of $360. Thats like axeing vegetable head. The victim stay throughout the shop till late,and the staff over there just continue to work and doesn't want to care about her.

Victim 2- She was a 60++ year old grandma. She have alot of oil spots on her face. She came to the shop to ask the staff whether can she remove the oil spots on the face not. Oil spots are something that can't be removed from the face but because they want to earn money, they lied to her and tell her that it is possible to remove them. After hearing that, she agreed to do it. The next day, she came back to the shop crying. The oil spot all become scars. They can just because of earning money and lied to the customer to earn their money. And what worse is that Chinese New Year is coming and how are the grandma going to face people when you make her till so ugly?? She cried all the way back home.

Victim 3- She was a 20++ woman. She went there to tattoo her eyebrown. The next day she go back, she complained to the staff that her eyebrown is drawn till one eye is higher than the other. The staff said this, "you will need to buy one pen which cost $25 so that I can redraw it for you". The woman said "All you want is still money. I really regretted coming to your shop to do. I really really regretted" before leaving the shop with a eyes filled with tears.

That's some of the victim but there are still more. Some of the customer was cheated. For example, the price of eyebrow tattooing is $40. But the staff can tell the customer that it is $60 if the customer doesn't know about the basic price.

Just hope that no more people will fall into this "black shop" anymore. I wanna help but I cant do anything =(( What I can say is that the shop is situated somewhere in the North East of Singapore.

I have been conned!!

Be careful. There is a black shop lurking in Tampines Central!! This is what happened, listen to my story.

I had said previously that I had won a Samsung F480 and was going to sell it. So yesterday, while I was going back home, I saw those push cart trolleys which sell secondhand phones along Tampines Interchange(The place where there is a line of shops like QBread) and it is the nearest to QBread. And so, I went up to the guy over there who sells the phone. If i'm not wrong, the shop name is called Mobile Dealz(I know is something Dealz).

I asked him how much can I sell my phone to him. He said $400 if it's a brand new one. And he said that he wanted to test whether is it brand new, if it is, he will take it at S$400. And so I thought he just wanted to test it, so I allowed him to.

After testing it, he said that someone have tested the phone before because there is dialled call in the history. But he said that he will still buy for it at S$400. But I was abit reluctant because I hope to see whether I can get a better price elsewhere and so I told the guy that I will consider first. Then he was abit buay song and said "I thought you say I test the phone already and you will sell it to me at S$400? " What he means are that I MUST sell it to him after he has tested it. I was like WTF!?! I thought I could still consider 1st...

He then continue to click on the phone before putting the phone back in the box and pass it to me. But for the casing of the box, he just threw it to me. Seeing this kind of attitude, I heck care and just walk away.

Than there is another push cart that also sells secondhand phone. And so I approach the person and ask him how much he wants to buy. He say he wanted to test the phone 1st and so I allow him to test. But then, this time round, my phone is locked and the person can't get into the system. The person say that the phone has no value when he can't even test it. I was shocked and think that it must be the previous guy who locked it because firstly, he is the 1st person who have tested on my handphone before. Secondly, he can access into the system to show who had called using my phone. And so, I went back to that guy to confront him.

This is the conversation we had.

Me: Have you locked my phone just now?
Guy: (of course he will say no) No.
Me: Than why suddenly my phone is lock?
Guy: Just now I test it your phone is already locked.
Me: Than how come you know that my phone got people use it to call out before? Can you show me how it is done?
Guy: It secret cannot say. But I can buy it for $400

Wah!! I was damn Du Lan. The guy was still willing to buy the phone for $400 even though it was locked. This show that he actually have the password to it and he is the one who lock it!!! Who is willing to buy a phone for $400 when you can't even access to it right?!?!? i doesn't know what to do and I just walk away and decided to go home to see what I can do.

As I was walking nearer and nearer to my bus berth, I was getting more and more annoyed by the incident. Than, I remembered that there is name cards on the push cart just now and maybe, I can take the namecard and do something about it, like reporting to the police or what. And so, I went back to the place and get the namecards before going back to take my bus.

While I was on the bus back home and nearing the 1st bus stop, I saw blk 503 which is opposite the road and the namecard has an address which also shows that the main shop is located at blk503. So now I know that they have a main shop at blk503, the push cart is only another renting place for them. So, I decided to go to the main shop to ask the person over there to see what he can do.

It was another guy who was looking after the shop. And I guess that the guy is the brother of the other guy at the push cart because they shared the same surname-Alex Tan and Michael Tan which is printed on the namecards respectively. And I told the guy about what happen just now and guess what he said?

"This you the problem between you two and I only listen to your side of the story so I can't possibly side you or him. But if you want I can buy it from you at $300." Wah. Now the price is even lower!! And I asked him to call the guy at the push cart and see what he can do.

Yes he did call but have you seen a person calling someone without dialing the number?? He just take out the phone and put it on his ear. After sometime, he said he can't get throught to him. I think they are some kind of Alien who have an antenna in their brain. When they want to call, they just think of the person and the phone will get through. Higher-Tech Telephone eh!!

I leave the shop and went to the shop beside it and asked the guy inside that if my phone is lock, what can I do. He said that I can go to the phone customer service and request them to unlock for me but it may require the use of warranty card. But if I were to use the warranty card, my phone will be considered second hand and the value for it will drop. That was like god damn WTFFFFFF!!

I reached home and I complained to my dad through the phone. My dad was angry and he ask me to meet him to go and confront the guy. Once we were there, the guy strongly denied that he has lock the phone and accuse me that I agreed to sell him the phone at S$400 but back out suddenly. Even if I back out suddenly, the guy also have no rights to lock my phone. Its my phone and its mine!! And the last word he say is still "I will buy your phone at S$400 if you agree to sell it to me".

Sorry NO. I have my pride. Even if I have to sell it to other shop at a lower price, I will sell it. I will not sell it to a shop that is so blacky and dishonest in doing business.

Luckily, my dad's friend said that he was able to unlock the phone and agreed to buy the phone.

So so so, everyone becareful when dealing with strangers. You doesn't know what they are thinking and it is best that you do not go alone when discussing something like this, have someone to accompany you.

This is a lesson learned.

It is so tiringgg!!

Went to Balestial for Ba Kut Teh after TP open house with I-guides.
It is god damn popular by the snakey queue that you can see from outside the shop.
We waited for like more than 45mins before getting a seat.
Ba Kut Teh was great.
Price was relatively reasonable.
I wanna go there eat again!!

And Yes!!

I have won myself a Samsung F480 at TP Jam & Hop!!
It was like the 1st time that I have won such a big prize in my life.
Thanks lady luck for falling for me on that day.
Bring me more luck luck =D

But

Because that I am going for my National Service in like 6 or 7 months time, I am thinking of selling it away.

New Year 2009

Happy belated New Year to everyone!! It was a GREAT 2008. I hope 2009 would be GREATER!!

In 2008, I have made alot of friends who add colours into my life. TCCians, Iguideses, Dewinians, ACians etc. Although time past away quickly, but every moments that spent with all of them will be memories that is unerasable from my PokPokTiao heart. I know that memories will fade away someday, thats why I have rickypeh88 to help me keep my memories. And imagine if i'm able to live till 50years old, I can come back to rickypeh88, to indulge in my memories and hao lian to my great great grandchildren and tell them, "you see, last time tai gong use to be sooo handsome"!!

Don't doubt me ok. I can be a great great ah gong HOR!

I believe that everyone got to know each other because of the fate that is between them. And fate is a very powderful thing that can bring us together.

Imagine if I didn't re-run for AC which is a very 50-50 decision, I wouldn't got to know a bunch of fun and outgoing Dewinians, cause I got to know them through being the organiser for Adventure Camp.

Imagine if I didn't sign up to be the sub-com of iguides which I almost didn't go for the interview, I may not have the chance to get to know each other better.

So I believe that every chain of event and every details of my life leads fate to bring us together.

For this year, my New Year Resolution would be... OK. Shall talk about that later. Here are some of the past memories that had happened in my life.

On the 30th of December, had a gathering with some of my TCC colleagues. Its been months since I met up with them. We went to Pit Stop Cafe at Boat Quay and it is something like Minds Cafe where you can dine and at the same time play board game.

Before that, I got lost at Clark Quay!! I don't know why eh. Everytime i'm with TCCians, I will turn blurer and stupidier. I was told that the place was at Boat Quay, but when I reach Clark Quay, I still went around Clark Quay to search for the place where I should walk to Boat Quay!! I bet someone have cast a spell on me ar!! We ate, we played and we click click away...

HAHAHA

This year New Year countdown was a very different one for me.

Due to SY=DD mum company got a pair of ticket to a corporate dinner and dance, she gave it to us. The place was at SwissHotel The Stamford.

It was god damn shiok that the table that we sat only have 5 people(including us). So we ate till very shiok and full. And after the 5th dish, we were full and went to meet up with iguideses at Marina Bay for the countdown.

Got to see live performance and I myself was on National Television!! WAHAHA.

The atmosphere was high and the fireworks was BEAUTIFUL!! They dance along with the rythm of the music and it was very interesting.

After that, initial plan was to go boat quay for some pubbing but due to the people mountain people sea situation, we head home. But before that, I saw my sister and her boyfriend treated me some drinks before cabbing home.

Now I shall talk about my New Year Resolution. My Year 2009 Resolution would be:
-Have a wonderful and safe Hong Kong cum ShenZhen cum ZhuHai cum Macau trip which is on the March 11th to March 19th

-Organise a successful Laser Challenge event which most probably will also be in March

-Have a wonderful 21st birthday before serving the nation

-Graduate from Temasek Polytechnic successfully with my ideal GPA

-Maybe have another trip to oversea before serving the nation

My Year 2009 wish would be:

-Everyone to be like a clown, able to smile and laugh no matter what

- Ler Aw and Ren to win more more money

-Heath for everyone

-Mum and Dad to strike 4D often

-SY=DD to be happy always
