KL trip-17 to 20 dec
Sunday, December 20, 2009, 12/20/2009 06:27:00 PM

Got back from Kuala Lumpur!

The 2nd time that I have been to KL. KL is a good place to stay for around 3-4days and anything more than that will be a 3 big Z and 3 small z- ZZZzzz. It's not that I didn't like the place but it just that the fun thing over there can only last for that amount of days. And the place lack basic facilities.

We took a train from Johor to KL in the night because the ticket price is much more cheaper compared to taking it in Tanjong Pagar train station. Train ride was quite an experience and got tortured at the same time by playing cards. Reached KL in the morning at around 630am. We had our breakfast at Mcdonald before proceeding to our first destination which is Sunway Lagoon. We got there by train and bus. One thing I like about travelling is to experience the live of the people over there like taking their public transport system and etc.

Sunway Lagoon was fun because I just love theme park. We got to try All-Terrain Vehicle(ATV) which was interesting. We also tried the flying fox which was great with all the cute kids in the pool trying to splash water on you while you are up that hanging and flying on the rope. And it was the 1st time that I took a 360degree pirate ship which was really exciting! Water theme park was great too but was sad that we wouldnt able to try the water slides as it is very crowded and we lazy to queue. After that, we settle our dinner at the Pyramid mall Manhatten fish market. Have a hearty meal because there is a Buy 3 get 1 free meal and we ordered quite alot and shared. Got to try different variety of fish and flavours in a day! Took a cab down to our guest house after that.

Malaysia Cab was really terrible!! Alot of cabbie don't use their meter so before you get on the taxi you have to request them to on and follow their meter. If they dont want, you can only find another cab which is willing to follow the meter to your destination.

Our guest house was not bad. Situated near the town area of Malaysia. It is cheap and clean although the room is small. But the staff there is friendly and I like the whole feel of the guest house. It is called Tropical guest house and it is really "Tropical". At the gate, there stood a gate that was made and decorated with dried long leaves and grass. And once you step in, there are bamboo shoot that act as a floor mat. The place is also decorated with pebbles and wooden furniture which give you a really comfortable and nature feel.

We check in and put our bag before going out and wander in the street at around 11pm and we end our night at around 2am.

Woke up at 730am and prepare ourself and we went to Petronas Tower. Initially wanted to get to the top of tower but we can't get the ticket so we just slack and shop around the shopping mall. We had our lunch at a nice Portuguese restaurant before cabbing to Time Square for a 2and half hour shopping spree. After the 2 and half hour, was sad that I couldn't get the thing that I wanted and we do not have enough time anymore, so we proceed to our next destination which is Petaling Street which is a night market. After the night market, it was already 820pm and we rushed our way back to our guest house to collect our bag and rush to the train station to catch our train back to Singapore which is at 935pm. Lucky we are able to make it at 930pm but everyone was sweating when we got into the train because we was walking very fast.

In the train, we decided to stop at Johor instead of Singapore so that we can go to City Square for more shopping as we still have cash to spare. And we reached Johor at around 6am. So we went to have our breakfast at a really sucky restaurant(similar to Singapore Ya Kun). imagine your half boiled egg is half raw egg... We played tai-dee, bluff and murderer to waste time before the shopping mall open which is at around 1030am. Shop around and was glad that I could get the stuff that I wanted and we got back to Singapore in the late afternoon.

It was a great cheap getaway to Malaysia!! We spent around S$80 for our 1 night accomodation and all our transportation including the return train ride from Singapore to Malaysia. And I bought around 535RM and I came back with only 10sen. Cool.

I am very sleepy right now and I haven't unpack my bag and pack my bag for tomorrow. Tomorrow gonna report back for NS. Got in Paya Lebar Airbase as an Admin Assistant. Was really happy about the location but somewhat not excited about the job scope as it is a boring but slack job I think. Gonna go carry my feet to pack my stuff and go orh orh liao.

Cheers~
