Rick's 22nd Birthday
Monday, June 28, 2010, 6/28/2010 10:09:00 AM
I'm getting old! =(((
On Friday after work, rush home to change before meeting campmates at The Chevron for KTV. While I was on the train reaching City Hall, I can start to feel the mucus in my nose is flowing down suddenly. Without tissue with me, I use my hand to block my nosetril and typically stay in that position throughout the journey. You can even see abit of it starting to flow between my fingers. As the train is crowded, I couldn't dare to move or do anything. When it reached Jurong East, I was damn relieve and quickly get off the train, rush to a corner and clean myself up. OK. That's gross.
So I met up with my campmates and we proceed to Chevron. Its a nice place. Room is not that small and price is reasonable. Here are some photos on that day.
Me with Han Wei whose birthday is one day later than mine =D
Nice Chill Out
Me with Shone- a new regular specs
With our birthday cards!
Group Photo
After that, went home and met up with Ler, Ow, Mok and Ren. We proceed on to East Coast Park for supper. They bought me an Oreo Cheesecake and sang a birthday song for me! Wahaha! Initially wanted to have some satay but ended up most of the shops were closed and we could only settle for Stingray and drinks. Why East Coast Park Food Centre close so early at 1am during weekend? =((
The next day, met up with the guys below plus Yong Liang who leave for Casino half way through to Sentosa for some tan tan session. So happy that my birthday wish came through which is to be with the Sun Sand and Sea!!
We tanned, we swimmed, we run, we played Monopoly Deal Cards, soccer and Freesbie. Had a great afternoon at Siloso Beach!
After that, we proceed to Vivocity for our dinner at Carls Junior. Saw my Serg and Mdm over there! Such a coincidence.
Oh and there was one incident which happened. While we were walking out of the Tram at Vivocity, this Phillipino guy(i guess) who was waiting for us stopped us and shout at YS and he said "Don't Puse!" and demanded an apology from him. However, it was the guy who pushed YS first while boarding the Tram over at Sentosa. So CH was down there saying "Oi you push people first still say people push you...etc" and continued the bombard. The guy got abit infuriated and when we meet again at the Escalator, he demanded a fight with me saying "Come Outside. 1 v 1!" before his wife pull hiim to the escalator. I guess that he pick on me is because throughout the whole incident, I was "diaoing" him all the way.
Hey Come'on. Your size is like one of the family member of Nutty Professor and you are trying to fight someone half the size of you? If you want to fight, please have the face and courage to pick someone of your own size. Furthermore, Singapore is not a place for you to show your babaric ways. Also, I pity you to pick a fight in front of your kids. Hope when your son grow up, it won't have the genes of yours if not, you shall personally sent him off to jail.
While waiting for YL to meet us at Vivo, we went to Toys R Us to walk walk. Back to childhood and we tried catching each other balls with the help of the Giappers.
After that, we went off to Neverland. My first time to neveland and it was a nice place. There are live performance and live world cup too!
My Football Birthday cake!
Blow
Being Saboed to go up on stage. Fwak!
Thanks everyone for their well wishes and company! And thanks Iguides for the chio Nike Bag!
I have a Happy 22nd =DD
Cheers~

Dinesh 21st Birthday Party
Sunday, June 20, 2010, 6/20/2010 10:32:00 PM
Whao. Its the 20th of June already! Time for this month flies really fast. Maybe its because of last week which I called "holiday week" as i'm my own chief in office. Night classes starting in 2 weeks time and i'm excited for it. I guess its good to be back as a student right? Pressure will be on myself to achieve good results so I will have to study not only hard, but harder and smarter! So for the next 2 weeks, i'm gonna relax and enjoy as much as I can.
Yesterday went to Dinesh 21st Birthday Party. Got the chance to play mahjong again which I had not done for the past few months. And I guess we all regreted making Dinesh so drunk. We have to restrain, or maybe help him kiss Desmond. We have to carry him down from the room to the toilet and he had to sit in there for more than 30minutes to vomit. And glad that he is able to fell asleep after that. Most importantly, everone had fun and alot of laughter. After that, we played Hold'em Poker, Blackjack and In Between using chips before heading home in the early morning. Happy 21st Birthday Neh!
Counting down to 2nd July because its AC reunion chalet!
Cheers~

Betting not my cup of tea
Wednesday, June 16, 2010, 6/16/2010 08:28:00 PM
This year World Cup give me a mathematics equation for Singaporeans and it is, World Cup = Betting.
Everyone around me is analysing which teams to side on, discussing who will be the winner. An even more intersting is even for stock market, the volume of trades have been lower than normal and analyst say it is due to traders focusing more on the green fields. I read it from Straits Times and it seems so funny.
I'm glad that that I didn't bet on this year World Cup. The prediction from my previous post prove that my prediction sucks. And I would rather use money for other investment.
This week is a very great week. It is a stressless and carefree week thanks to my superior taking overseas leave! Have a lot of time in my disposal to learn and do the things that I want. This week don't blink so fast please! =D
And it is a shock to know that our famous shopping streets had been in the water today. A rare sight in Singapore.
Cheers~

World Cup 2010-South Africa
Friday, June 11, 2010, 6/11/2010 10:53:00 PM
Today is the best day that I had in office! Imagine 4 guys in an office without any law... The results will be a lot of crap, laughter, stomachache and stressless mood! That's the way life should be! Why must we limit ourselves to be so stressful in life right? If only the law could allow us to be in this way everyday, that would be great. It will surely create a very lively, bubbly and full of smiles environment. Of course all this should not compromise the productivity that we should have. If only the law could understand...
And today, I would like to wish Hui San, Qi Jun and Qi Zheng a very Happy Birthday!!
I know a woman's age is a secret so I wouldn't say how old is she. So Happy 22nd Birthday HS!
And the twins Qi Jun/Zheng, one is my poly mate and the other is my camp mate(fate is so miraculous right), Happy 21st Birthday!!
And nothing is more important than being Happy. So I would like to wish them full of happiness in the year ahead!
World cup came already!
Here is my humble prediction for some matches:
Uruguay vs FranceMy Pick: France win
Reason: France just look too good to lose to Uruguay.
Korea vs GreeceMy Pick: Draw
Reason: I always like Asian team to win because it will prove that not only the ang mohs is good at chasing a ball. However, don't underestimate Greece.
England vs USAMy Pick: England
Reason: I'm one of EPL fan so I have no choice but to pick England. However, they seems to be half-hearted.
Brazil vs Korea DPRMy Pick: Brazil
Reason: The sambas are famous for their beautiful game. And I just hate North Korea leader for bringing so many hardship to their people!
My pick for the 3 eventual winner: Spain or Argentina or England
If you want to bet, always follow this rules: The Ball Is RoundCheers~

Patience
Thursday, June 10, 2010, 6/10/2010 09:55:00 PM
Patience does wonder today.
I am supposed to leave office at 530pm today. But than, at 445pm, I recieved a call from my superior and she asked me to stay till 6pm as she is going for some discussion and afraid that she might have some documentation that she may forget to bring. So I am like a backup to her where anything she forget to bring, I will have to fax it over to her.
Normally in this kind of situation, people will be cursing and swearing but for me, I didn't. Thinking of not wanting to waste any time, I decided to go gym which is just 5 level below my office. Thus I changed into my PT attire, put on my running shoes and wrote a note:
I pasted it on the door, locked it and hit the gym straight away.
What I am trying to say here is that if you don't like something (who like to stayback right?) and can't do anything about it, stop complaining, be patience and think of how you can make something out of nothing.
I learned not to complain to heaven or hell. I learned to be more open and accept all kinds of situation, even if it is something that you dislike. I learned to have more patience and slowed down my pace. And I am learning to continue to remind myself to stay in this positive manners cause it makes me feel happier! =D
I attended a Wealth Management Talk organised by my unit yesterday and it fuels the burning passion that I already had for investment. However, what's holding me back is my reluctant of taking the first step into it as I always feel that I don't have adequate knowledge and skills for it. But I guess no matter what, I have to take that first step to make things work.
I guess i'm going to open a trading account, splash some capital as my tuition fee, play with it and at the same time, read more financial books to be more financial literate. Can't wait for my course to start so that I can learn faster!
I wanna go to the Forex/Options Preview tomorrow but i'm afraid cause I scared I know nothing about it. I'm want to go to the Financial Management Game this Saturday. Hopefully they will send me the details tomorrow!
Cheers~

Let us be slow
Monday, June 07, 2010, 6/07/2010 08:29:00 PM
How I wish I could live in Denmark for a year so that I can enjoy their cold short sunlight days in winter where sunrise comes around at only 9am and set at 430pm, and also their cooling long sunlight days in summer where the sun rise at a very early 4am and set at only 10pm!! Imagine you are sleeping with the sun still shining on your backside... That is really a different experience!
And guess what? Denmark has been voted the happiest place in the world for year 2006 to 2008. They are a large welfare state with the world 's highest level of income equality. Shops close after 5pm and the pace in that country seems so peaceful.
The pace in Singapore is way too fast that people feels stressful. Yes stress do provide results-We are a rich country and enjoys a very high standard of living. But stress makes people lose their cool easily. They become less courteous, narrow minded by only pursueing for materialism, don't give a second look to the things that is around them and everyday seems like living in a battlefield for them. And when did you see a person is worryless? Everyday you see your parents worry about finances. You see people worry about their exams. You see teens worrying about ways to get an itouch. Even our clean country is worried that we are not courteous enough. Well you see, our society shaped us into a mind that wants to pursue and excel in a lot of things at the same time. This in turn diverse our attention into getting the things that we want and in return, causes mental draining.
Bring yourselves back to 50 years ago where you are still living in a kampong. Where food cost just a few cents and playing marbles and hopscotch give you so much happiness. A simple thing can simply make you happy. But now, our society has too much temptation to satisfy our different needs and wants that we always can't have enough of it.
I wonder will Singapore one day be like Denmark, to be voted one of the happiest country in the world.
On Saturday, we celebrated QiJun's be-early 21st Birthday. Seems like everybody getting older and older. Well again, you just feel like the days have been passing so fast that in the blink of an eye, another year has past. Well that the results of a fast-paced country. Other than that, I have start playing a lot of DOTA with bros and friends online. It has become a mild addiction that I have to make it a point by restricting myself to only play on times where my friends are playing.
And the mood in office is getting more and more excited I guess because there are going to have major changes in my working environment. Crossing my finger on the fate of my 1 and 1 quarter years of ah-mi life.
Cheers~
